Speckle-bellied Keelback inhabits lowland and lower montane forests to around 1800 meters elevation, usually near streams. This snake has a cylindrical body shape with a head different from the neck. The eyes are large and the pupils rounded. This snake has light chevron coming around the neck and dark crossbars with light middle portions. Color from brown to olive-brown. The front of the body sometimes tends towards yellow or greenish. The Head is grey to brown. The belly is yellow with brown mottling. It can grow to up 98 cm long. It feeds on frogs, lizards, birds, and rodents. It can be eaten by larger snakes or birds of prey. It is a harmless snake but should be treated with caution.
