Pope's Pit Viper

Pope's pit viper is a species of venomous viper in the family Viperidae. Lives throughout Southeast Asia, including Thailand. Pope's pit viper can grow to a length of 80 cm. It is green, below the pale green, the tail is divided on top by a bright two-tone orange or brown stripe. Pope's pit viper is nocturnal and arboreal. If threatened, it will vibrate its tail. Pope's pit viper preys upon frogs, lizards, birds, and rodents. This species is viviparous. The hatchlings are about 18 cm. Pope's pit viper possesses a potent neurotoxic venom which is dangerous to humans.
