Oriental Whip

The oriental whip snake is a very common snake in Thailand. These snakes can be seen in the trees during the day. Grows up to 190 cm long. The body is thin and tapers to a very thin neck. The head is spear-shaped and bright green. The oriental whip snake active during the daylight hours, at night these snakes sleep. They hunt frogs, small birds and small lizards. It can spread its neck area to increase by double in size as a defensive technique designed to scare attackers. This snake is not dangerous to humans as it is not aggressive and has a weak venom.
