A long-nosed whip snake is a slender green tree snake found in Thailand. Found in low bushes and trees in lowland forest terrain near streams and human settlements. The long-nosed whip snake is diurnal and mildly venomous. This snake feeds on frogs and lizards. They are slow moving relying on camouflaging. They may open their mouth in threat display and point their head in the direction of the perceived threat. They are the only species of snake with horizontal pupils. The species is viviparous. The snake ranges in color from bright green to pale brown. With a yellow line along each side of the underside. Reaches a length of 5 meters. The bite can cause swelling, pain, and other local symptoms that disappear within three days. Bites near the head, eyes, and other vital areas can be serious.
