Burmese Python

The Burmese python is one of the five largest species of snakes in the world. They can often be found near water and in swampy areas. They are good swimmers and can stay underwater for up to 30 minutes. Python can reach up to 5 meters in length. The Burmese python is a dark-colored snake with many brown blotches bordered in black down the back. They are mainly nocturnal. They are solitary and are only found when mating. Females laying clutches of 10–30 eggs and remain with the eggs until they hatch. The Burmese python is carnivorous. They feed of birds and mammals. Can be found near human habitation due to the presence of rats and mice as a food source.
